Wear protection for hot abrasive material areas

HALDEN H-400 High Temperature Plate is designed for wear positions exposed to elevated temperature and abrasive flow. It helps customers protect equipment where ordinary wear plate may lose performance, deform, crack prematurely or suffer from shorter service life under heat.

This grade should be selected according to real working temperature, thermal cycling, impact level and handled material. HALDEN can help review drawings and working conditions before recommending the overlay structure and base plate.

Wear Plates for Buckets

Key benefits

  • Designed for abrasive wear under elevated temperature
  • Suitable for hot ash, clinker, sinter and heated bulk materials
  • Can be fabricated into liners, shields, chute plates and pipe sections
  • Recommended when standard liners fail quickly in hot wear zones

Typical specifications

Overlay type Chromium carbide or custom alloy hardfacing layer
Base plate Q235, Q345, A36 or equivalent weldable steel; special base plate available by project
Hardness HRC 58-65
Plate format Standard sheet, cut-to-size liner or fabricated wear component
Processing Cutting, bending, rolling, drilling, countersunk holes, stud welding and welding assembly

Recommended applications

Boiler wear areas
For selected shields, liners and ash handling wear positions.
Cyclone separators
For abrasive inner liners and hot particle flow areas.
Sintering equipment
For steel plant sinter and hot material handling zones.
Hot clinker transfer
For cement plant clinker discharge and transfer equipment.
Hot ash conveying
For power plant ash transfer and collection systems.
Thermal wear liners
For liner kits requiring both heat resistance and abrasion control.

HALDEN wear plate application

When to choose H-400

Condition H-400 suitability Recommendation
Room-temperature ordinary abrasion More than needed H-100 may be more cost-effective.
Severe room-temperature abrasion Possible, but not necessary Consider H-200 Severe Abrasion Plate.
Powder or sticky material flow Depends on temperature Consider H-300 if smooth flow is more important.
High-temperature abrasive wear Good fit Use H-400 after confirming working temperature.
Heavy impact plus heat Needs review HALDEN should review impact level and temperature together.
