Rollers for Steel Mills (Hardfaced)
We manufacture rollers for conveying and processing of the materials in heating-hot rolled. These rolls operate under high load, temperature and in scale & abrasive atmosphere and are generally hardfaced to provide an additional life.
Hardfaced Mill Roller Manufacture: HARDFACING – MILL ROLLER Halden are suppliers of new and reconditioned mill rollers supplied to specifications according to the customer’s requirements, providing a quality service for the re-welding or light-milling of used sleeves commissioned by our customers.
What We Supply
– Brand new hardfaced rollers made to your requirements and operating conditions.
- Roller rebuilding and rebuilding services for worn out rollers and sleeves.
- Application guidance for selecting a suitable hardfacing alloy and thickness based on the identified wear mechanisms.
Applications in Hot Rolling Metallurgy of the hot rolling processes vary depending on the final product.
- Roller tables and roller conveyors.- Entry & exit conveyors also transfer sections.
- Regions experiencing high scale and / or wear.
- Parts subjected to thermal cycling and impact.By submitting the rollers position in the paper machine and wear symtoms we can present a cost effective well performing hardfacing.
Hard-facing Options (Customized for Your Wear Style)
Our approach is to match our hardfacing materials and procedures with common wear failure mechanisms:
- Impact and chipping: Using overlays with superior edge toughness.
- Thermal fatigue and heat checking: Use materials with high hot-strength, as well as crack-resistant.
- Corrosive and oxidizing environments: Selecting alloys according to the media present.
Rewelding / Renovation Service (Rebuild Program) You have another S.D.C.
As well as the provision of new rollers, we provide a renovation service for second hand rollers returning them to “as new” ready for you to replace. The following are what is usually involved in a rebuild:
- Full inspection and wear assessment.
- Preparation of surface and removal of relevant defects.
- Deposit hardfacing to the thickness required.- Final manufactured dimensions to drawing requirements.
- Dimension and visual check before shipment. You can mail the used rollers to us, or send dimensions and pictures for an evaluation.
Quality Control & Documentation
Our projects quality control may be covering:
- Dimensional inspection report.
- Hardness report (if required).- Material and welder certificates (on request).
- Optional recording of photos during the acquisition process.
RFQ Checklist (What To Quote)
Please provide the following information:
- Roller drawing or key size (outside diameter, inside diameter, and length).
- Base material (if known).
- Roller position and temperature of production line.
- Wear mechanisms and failure modes that prevail among existing ones (if there are any photos it will be useful).
- Thickness and Hardness Gradient Required (if any).
- Volume (new or rebuild) and lead time requirement.
- Delivery terms and destination.
