Fit-up Welding Rotator
HALDEN fit-up welding rotator is designed for section-to-section assembly of pipes, tanks, vessels, and wind tower components. It uses four independent fit-up rolls for lift-up positioning, supported by hydraulic cylinders and connected to a hydraulic pump station, allowing more controlled alignment during assembly.
Combined with standard conventional power and idler rollers, the fit-up rotator helps realize section-to-section fit-up with better gap alignment, height adjustment, and circumferential positioning for large cylindrical workpieces.
- Four independent fit-up rolls with hydraulic lift-up process
- Suitable for section-to-section pipe, vessel, tank, and wind tower assembly
- Can “A” travel distance: 600–1800 mm via travel car bogie
- Can “B” travel distance: 250 mm stroke via hydraulic cylinder
- Vertical stroke: 150 mm via 4 hydraulic cylinders
- Overall load capacity at 40 tons and above also available
Purpose-Built for Section Assembly
The fit-up welding rotator is mainly used for section-to-section assembly of cylindrical structures. It is especially practical in wind tower production and in vessel or tank fabrication where precise alignment between two sections is required before welding.
By using hydraulic lift-up rolls together with conventional power and idler rollers, the machine helps improve alignment efficiency and reduce manual adjustment effort during large-part assembly.
Hydraulic Fit-up Control for Better Alignment
Four independent fit-up rolls perform the lift-up process and are supported by hydraulic cylinders connected to a hydraulic pump station. This gives the operator better control over section position, gap adjustment, and height correction during fit-up.
The result is a more stable and more practical assembly process for large cylindrical workpieces.
Competitive Advantage
Designed to meet the fit-up needs of cone tank, vessel, and wind tower industries.
Specialized Fit-up Function
Fit-up roller beds provide unique features for industries that need precise section alignment such as cone tank, vessel, and wind tower fabrication.
Hydraulic Gap and Height Adjustment
The hydraulic movement system allows controlled alignment between sections for gap matching and high-low position correction.
Practical for Heavy Cylindrical Assembly
The system is intended to simplify large section assembly and improve positioning efficiency in heavy fabrication workshops.
One Section + One Section Fit-up
Coordinated movement of Can “A” and Can “B” supports better offset, gap, and height alignment.
Can “A” Movement
Can “A” can travel a distance of 600–1800 mm via the travel car bogie. The power roller is driven by an AC inverter to control the turning of Can “A”, helping it match the offset line of Can “B”.
Can “B” Movement
Can “B” can travel 250 mm stroke via hydraulic cylinder. This movement allows alignment between Can “A” and Can “B” for gap adjustment.
Vertical stroke is 150 mm through 4 hydraulic cylinders for high and low position correction. Overall load capacity is listed at 40 tons, with higher capacity also available.
