Coke Handling Bin Wear Liner
Coke handling bin liner is a unique abrasion resistant chromium-carbide overlay on a mild steel base plate. Reinforced wear liners have been designed to offer increased resistance to both impact and abrasion, specifically in harsh bulk materials handling applications. The wear plate is manufactured by depositing high chromium, wear resistant materials on the mild steel base plate using open arc or submerged arc welding process. The hardness is tested on machined flat surface just below overlay surface.
Fine cracks perpendicular to the welding bead is normal due to natural stress relieving in a very hard matrix. Staggered cracking pattern on overlay surface contributes to good formability. The wear plate is suitable for severe wear and moderate impact applications.
The linings may be bonded onto the metal surfaces of the chute or launder, or supplied as a lining sleeve which may be fitted into the equipment with fasteners. Performance polyurethane is acknowledged to be one of the most abrasion resistant lining materials available to the UK aggregate processing industries. This method catches and holds the material, allowing it to wear on itself rather than on a sacrificial wear plate.
